LYRA is the registered trademark of Johann Froescheis Lyra-Bleistift-Fabrik GmbH & Co. KG with its headquarters in Nuremberg. The company has been manufacturing pencils in Germany for more than 200 years. Today, Lyra is the only pencil manufacturer that produces in Germany. The company uses PEFC-certified wood from sustainable forestry as far as possible.
The Waldorf Selection is a special assortment of unlacquered Super Ferby pencils from LYRA. In cooperation with Waldorf teachers, the colours were put together on the basis of Waldorf education. We have chosen the Waldorf Selection to equip our school pencil cases because children from the age of 6 can easily hold the triangular Super Ferby pencil with the so-called three-point grip of thumb, index and middle finger, the leads of the pencils are particularly break-proof and can be easily sharpened, and the intensity of the selected beautiful colours stimulates the children's creativity. In addition, the pencils are made from PEFC-certified wood in Germany. And in 2018, the Waldorf Selection was awarded the recognised spiel gut® seal.
Our school pencil cases contain the colours lemon, orange, dark scarlet, crimson, Venetian red, May green, meadow green, light blue, Prussian blue and Van Dyck brown. In addition to the Waldorf Selection, our pencil cases include a learn-to-write pencil in a thicker format, ideal for writing beginners, as well as a double sharpener, an eraser and a wooden ruler. They contain everything a primary school child needs. At the Waldorf school as well as at any conventional primary school.
