All our school bags are suitable for children in primary school, therefore for attending grades 1 to 4 and up to grade 6 if desired. Due to its light weight and good fit, our school satchel iSi is particularly suitable for school beginners.

The decisive factor for the carrying comfort of a school bag is the actual carrying weight. Therefore, the weight should always be kept as low as possible. A school bag with a capacity of 15 litres will never be heavier than 6 kg when fully packed. That is quite a lot for a six- or seven-year-old child with a body weight of about 24 kg. It pays to pack cleverly and not carry around anything unnecessary right from the start. The child keeps track of his or her school supplies. And, more importantly, it has a carefree journey to school.

Yes. Due to the compact format and the low weight, the school satchel is also suitable for petite children.

Yes. All school bags are easy to clean and weatherproof. No additional protection is needed for when it rains. The school utensils inside remain dry. If the satchel ever gets wet, you should let it dry slowly at room temperature and, by all means, lying down. This is important to prevent changes in shape. Do not hang a satchel that has become damp on a hook. This can cause the leather to buckle and lose its original shape.

No. Our satchels are handcrafted minimalist pieces. We deliberately do without all conceivable extras and keep the satchels as simple as possible in their construction.

No. We deliberately do not use any kind of application. This ensures that the satchels remain usable for a long time. If necessary, the school bag can be redesigned with replaceable gimmicks that can be attached temporarily. This is fun for some children, looks exclusive and individual, and makes the school bag something special in the long run. You can find inspiration on instagram!

No. The cowhide satchel G! is only available with buckles. The buckles with reflectors are no longer produced in the size we use and have therefore been replaced by roller buckles.

With buckles. These are buckles like those used on belts. For school beginners, the buckles are a little difficult to handle at first, when the leather is very firm. In the course of the first grade, the leather of the strap becomes softer, so that it then works more easily. These buckles offer the advantage that they are very durable, almost indestructible.

Our product images are created in high quality. A calibrated colour match is made for each image. Nevertheless, there may be deviations in the colour representation. Among other things, this also has to do with the settings of your screen.

Pastel turquoise is less greenish than the name suggests. The colour tone is bluish. We have adopted the designation from RAL. In the RAL fan you will find pastel turquoise as RAL 6034.

No. Lemon is a fresh yellow, lighter and more airy than sun yellow. Our Lemon is similar to the RAL colour zinc yellow, RAL 1018.

No. Greenish Grey is our previous Olive. We have decided to change the colour name because it has caused irritation in the past. It is a sophisticated shade of green and blue. There is nothing yellowish or brownish about the shade, as the previous name Olive wrongly suggested.

The neon blue is an intense blue, similar to PANTONE 801. It is intense but not garish. The other neon colours are glaring. Not for the shy. The neon green is reproduced very well in all product images. Neon pink and neon orange are not well done on all items. The two colours sometimes appear paler in the pictures than they actually are.

To clean the school bag, simply use a slightly damp cloth. Heavy rubbing should be avoided. Dirt can be removed with a dry cloth after drying. Avoid heavy rubbing here as well. If a school bag is more heavily soiled, we recommend the Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner, or if necessary the Colourlock Strong Leather Cleaner from the Lederzentrum in Rosdorf near Göttingen.

To care for the leather, we recommend Colourlock Elephant Leather Preserver, manufactured by the Lederzentrum in Rosdorf near Göttingen. Larger areas on satchels or bags can also be treated well with Colourlock Leather Protector. Please do not use the usual leather care products (leather care creams, leather oils, waxes or similar) without first carefully testing them on a small, discreet area. This could permanently damage the feel, lightness and beauty of the leather.

Yes. If you would like to have a repair carried out, please send us an enquiry with a photo in advance so that we can assess the condition of the product. Please also provide us with the invoice number so that we can assign you as a customer. You will receive a cost offer from us. A repair is usually carried out within 2 to 4 weeks. If the repair is of a school bag, we recommend that it is carried out during the school holidays.

No. Unfortunately, it is not possible to repair a defective zip on a case. As the seams of the cases are very finely crafted, the perforated areas in the leather cannot be resewn stitch by stitch - as is necessary for a repair. We therefore recommend that you handle the zip with care: Do not damage the Zipper tape with sharp objects, do not tug the zip around corners and always sort pins carefully into the loops provided. The zips we use are premium metal zips from the leading Japanese manufacturer Yoshida Kōgyō (YKK). Properly treated, each zip will last for years to come.

We do not offer this service. To care for and refresh the colour, we recommend Colourlock Elephant Leather Preserver, manufactured by the Lederzentrum in Rosdorf near Göttingen. The Lederzentrum specialises in the restoration of leather and will be happy to advise you with any questions you may have about leather.

The specific quality of our leather lies in the process of pure vegetable tanning, which is the most complex and cleanest way of producing leather with regard to the environment and your health. In order to preserve the special character of the leather, we deliberately colour only the grain side. In the hand-finishing process, bleed-throughs and colour applications on the reverse side of the leather are unavoidable. For reasons of sustainability, we process all parts of the leather, including those that have colour on the reverse side. We do not throw these parts away. So every now and then a bag will have traces of colour on the inside. Sometimes there are also traces of colour on the back of a shoulder strap. We find that these traces of craftsmanship have their own charm.

Yes. A lost or defective buckle for the school satchel iSi is easy to replace. If you enter replacement in the search field, the replacement buckle will be displayed. The buckle is also suitable for the mini satchel and for the teacher’s briefcase.

No. The handle loop on our school bags should only be used to lift and put on the bag. It should not be used to attach to a hook on the student's desk in the classroom or desk at home. Especially not if the desk does not have a satchel storage tray or grid. The handle loop would stretch from hanging and could tear. A satchel that has become damp can be bent by hanging and lose its beautiful shape.

We offer the following payment options for deliveries within Germany as well as abroad: Prepayment by bank transfer and Paypal. We do not currently offer purchase on account or payment by credit card.

This can sometimes happen. It is possible that our order confirmation email did not arrive in your inbox, but in your spam folder. Please check there. Perhaps your e-mail address also contained a typing error, so that our order confirmation could not be delivered. If you cannot find the order confirmation, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

You will find the delivery time on the respective product page. The delivery time 1 to 3 days means that the item is in stock and will be shipped immediately after receipt of payment. Under delivery time worldwide you will find the respective parcel delivery times, which you can use as a guide.

Yes. All parcels are packed in accordance with customs regulations. The transit time of a parcel to Switzerland is up to 7 days. Alternatively, we are happy to send the parcel to a German parcel station for our Swiss customers. The transit time of a parcel within Germany is 1 to 2 days.

No. We no longer offer VAT refunds for exports from the EU to Switzerland as of the beginning of 2022. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue this service due to the high accounting effort involved.

This is by all means a good question. According to information from Swiss Post, you should incur the following additional costs if you receive your parcel in Switzerland: Customs clearance fee CHF 11.50 plus 3% compensation for expenses and 8% Swiss goods turnover on the total amount shown in our invoice. However, we have repeatedly received different feedback from customers regarding the costs of customs clearance. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to give you a binding statement as to whether the calculation is actually carried out as described above.

Please cancel the order by replying to your order confirmation by e-mail and informing us that you wish to return the goods received. We will confirm receipt of your cancellation immediately by e-mail.

According to our cancellation policy, you bear the direct costs of returning the goods. Accordingly, we do not provide any return labels.

The easiest way is to order online the item in the desired colour variant. Please then reply to the order confirmation you receive by e-mail with a request to send us a photo. Please understand that sending a selection picture may take 3 to 5 days. As soon as we have received your response, the selected copy will be reserved for you and dispatched after receipt of payment.

No. We do not offer a gift wrapping service. However, our wallets and the fountain pen cases of the Grain Edition are delivered in a gift box as standard. Our school satchels, bags and pencil cases are delivered as standard in a charming dust bag made of organic cotton, so that they do not need to be additionally gift-wrapped.
